Rental Requirements

Driver Requirements

Effective date: July 19, 2026

These requirements apply to every renter and additional driver on a Peachtree Auto Rental reservation. Meeting them in advance is the fastest way to make sure your pickup goes smoothly — bring the documents listed below and you're set.

1. Overview

To rent a vehicle from Peachtree Auto Rental, every driver on the reservation must meet our minimum age, license, and documentation requirements. These requirements exist to keep our fleet, our customers, and other drivers on the road safe, and to comply with Georgia rental regulations and our insurance obligations.

2. Minimum Age Requirements

The minimum age to rent from Peachtree is 21 years old. Renters under 25 may be subject to a young driver surcharge and may have restricted access to certain premium or luxury vehicle categories.

Age RangeEligibilitySurcharge
18–20Not eligible to rent
21–24Eligible — Economy & SUV categoriesYoung driver fee applies
25+Eligible — full fleet, including Luxury CollectionNo surcharge

Exact young driver fees are shown at checkout before you confirm your reservation.

3. Valid License Requirements

Every driver must present a valid, unexpired driver's license held for at least one year. We accept:

  • A valid U.S. state-issued driver's license
  • A valid driver's license from your home country, accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP) for renters visiting from outside the U.S.

We cannot accept learner's permits, expired licenses, suspended or restricted licenses, or licenses that do not match the name on the reservation and payment method.

4. What To Bring at Pickup

Every Renter

Standard Pickup

  • Valid driver's license
  • Payment card in the renter's name
  • Proof of insurance, if declining our protection options
  • Confirmed reservation number
International Renters

Additional Documents

  • Valid passport
  • Home-country driver's license
  • International Driving Permit (IDP)

5. Payment & Deposit Requirements

A valid credit or debit card in the renter's name is required to confirm and pick up a reservation. A refundable security deposit or authorization hold may be placed on your card at pickup and released after the vehicle is returned in its original condition, less any charges outlined in your Rental Agreement. Prepaid cards and cash are not accepted as the primary form of payment.

6. Additional Drivers

Anyone who will operate the vehicle besides the primary renter must be listed as an additional driver on the Rental Agreement and meet the same age, license, and driving record requirements as the primary renter. Unlisted drivers are not covered under our protection options or the vehicle's insurance in the event of an incident.

7. Out-of-State & International Renters

We welcome renters from outside Georgia. Out-of-state U.S. renters need only a valid license from their home state. International renters should review Section 4 above and confirm with their personal insurer or card issuer whether coverage extends to a U.S. rental before arriving (see our Insurance Info page).

8. Driving Record Standards

We reserve the right to review a driver's record as part of the reservation process. Renters with a recent DUI/DWI, reckless driving conviction, a suspended or revoked license within the past three years, or an excessive number of moving violations may be declined at our discretion.

9. Requirements for Specialty Rental Programs

Rideshare & Delivery Rentals — you'll need an active, verified driver account with the platform you drive for (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Spark, Instacart, Amazon Flex, or similar), and your account must be in good standing. Some platforms require the rental vehicle to meet specific age or condition standards, which our Rideshare Collection is built to meet.

Business & Executive Rentals — corporate accounts may require a company purchase order or authorized signer in addition to the individual driver's standard documentation.

Travel Nurse Rentals

In addition to standard requirements, we ask for a copy of your current contract assignment letter or agency confirmation showing your assignment dates and location, so we can tailor your rental term appropriately.

10. Reasons a Reservation May Be Declined

  • Driver does not meet minimum age or license requirements
  • Documentation cannot be verified or does not match the reservation
  • Payment method is declined or not in the renter's name
  • Driving record does not meet our safety standards
  • Requested vehicle is unavailable at time of pickup

If we're unable to fulfill a reservation for any of these reasons, our team will work with you on next steps, including alternate vehicles where possible.
